the difference between men's and women's language

Language, which is a rule governed system, differs thorough time because of the change in people's way of living and the new generation from person to person in different places and from social class to another. It differs according to many factors such the interlocutor, topic, occupation, register and gender. This latter has great influence on language because of the difference between men and women in social context, which is the situation characterizing the context where an utterance in produced.

Women's language differs from that of men, mainly, because of their biology, psychology and socialization. They are generally emotional in their speech. They use more tag questions and clean sentences that are devoid of taboo words because girls grow up in society surrounded by women so that they imitate what they do and try to be like them to show their female qualities. Also, they can't utter vulgar words inside or outside home or they will be punished. Generally, women's speech is considered to be polite because they always use tag questions to make sure they are right, especially when they talk to men. We, also, observe that women are knowledgeable in some fields more than men, especially in color and culinary terms
because they do care of clothes' color and types of food more than men and give great importance to every domain has to do with food, decoration and fashion .

Men, in the other hand, according to many sociolinguistic studies use a lot of taboo and vulgar words because they spend most of their time outside home dealing with different social classes, especially the low one in streets. Boys biologically and psychologically differs from girls because they spend more time outside home and care of things concerning them, especially those expressing virility and manhood like wrestling ,boxing and football. Because of this reason, they are expert in terms concerning these fields. Boys rebel against the control of their mothers at a certain age, not like girls who last their relation with their mothers, and that makes them tough and strong, the thing that makes their characteristics clearly observed in their speech, which is considered to be less polite because they use rarely tag questions and don't try to share ideas or try to make sure that what they think is right, with some exceptions of course.

Sociolinguists made and still make many researches in this field and other fields, and they still discover many new interesting things, to which laymen don't pay attention, and when they do so they do not understand the phenomena. These researches have crucial role in discovering hidden and vague facts in our societies and make laymen aware of the social phenomena around them.
